Cookeilidh ( Cook - Kay - Lee )

Cookeilidh is a 4-member Celtic band residing in Victoria, BC. We like to define our music as “Westcoast Celtic”, but our tunes hail from places such as Scotland, Ireland, Cape Breton and Newfoundland.

We are a predominantly acoustic group, playing a variety of instrumental, high-energy jigs, reels, polkas, strathspeys and aires, along with some traditional and original vocal numbers.

Our name hails from the old Gaelic spelling of “Ceilidh” which means “kitchen party” or “musical gathering”, and that is the atmosphere we strive to create.
